The Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center has affiliations with: 

• Michigan State University School of Human Medicine and Synergy Medical Education Alliance, Inc., which provides clinical training to physician residents in Internal Medicine.  The Medical Center has four rotating residents trained at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center each month. Also for Social Workers.
• Wayne State University and Kresge Eye Institute, which provides clinical training to ophthalmology residents one day per month on a rotating basis
• Saginaw Valley State University for nurses and nurse practitioners
• Central Michigan University for Physician Assistants and Dietetic Interns
• Ferris State University for Pharmacist and Optometry Interns
• Delta College for nurses, dental hygienists, and physical therapy assistants
• University of Florida Working Professionals for Pharm D

Veterans Service Organizations

The Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center maintains a good working relationship with all of our veteran service organization (VSO) partners. We regularly brief our VSO representatives on changes impacting veterans' health care.

A Veterans Advisory Council (VAC) has been established which includes stakeholders from a number of veterans groups. The VAC meets quarterly.

US Department of Defense

As a participant in the US Department of Defense TRICARE Program*, the Saginaw VAMC serves as the main referral source for women's health and orthopedic specialty appointments.
