Outpatient Classes/Orientation

GROUP CLASSES

ROOM 234 and all Community Based Outpatient Clinics

 

All  enrolled veterans are welcome!  Ask your provider for a consult today.

 

  • NEW VETERAN ORIENTATION        9:00-10:00 daily 

This 45 minute class is to inform veterans about their VA benefits for healthcare, after the enrollment process is completed.

 

 

  • MOVE! ORIENTATION                     1-2pm   2ND Thursday and 3RD Friday

A 45 minute class explaining the MOVE program choices

 

 

  • MOVE! GROUP Level II                      1:30-3pm Tuesday

This is an 8 week course designed to help veterans develop a healthy lifestyle

 

 

  • MOVE! SUPPORT GROUP                 9-10am 1st Friday

Available for veterans that choose to continue meeting for support following Level II MOVE course

 

 

  • MOVE! Skills Development                      1-2:30pm Monday

If you have completed MOVE! You may register for an eight week group session to build awareness/insight regarding behaviors that contribute to healthy weight management.

 

 

  • DIABETES SELF MANAGEMENT         1030-1230 Monday’s weeks 1-3

 

     Three group classes, 2 hours each provides an overview of diabetes, and the skills necessary to manage this disease.

  • Class one: What is diabetes? How do I manage my blood sugars?
  • Class two: What can I eat? What are these medications?
  • Class three: Why is control of blood sugar so important? How can I exercise and stay healthy?

 

  • LIPID(CHOLESTEROL) CLINIC                               1030-1130 Tuesday

A 60 minute overview discussing current information about how to best control cholesterol.

 

 

  • SMOKING CESSATION                    1-3pm 1st Thursday monthly

 

  • HEPATITIS C                                      1pm 2nd Monday monthly

One hour class presented by Infectious Disease physician, describing in detail the liver disease caused by hepatitis C, prognosis of chronic infection, and available therapy.
