Construction Projects

Pavillion Construction

We would like to share with you a construction update from our VA Medical Center. This summer, we have undergone a number of construction projects to tell you about.

Monday, September 7, 2015

We have had a number of construction projects to share, some of which are still underway.  They include:

• A large parking lot project which will completely redesign and resurface the north and west lots and add about 100 parking spots.  This project should be wrapped up by fall.

• A new recreational pavilion is being constructed which will allow for Veterans and staff to utilize the space during all four seasons for a variety of activities.  It is more easily accessible for Veterans who may be residing in our Community Living Center.  It is anticipated the pavilion will be ready for use in the spring 2016.

• Our laboratory is being renovated to upgrade equipment, workflow, and other improvements to this very important diagnostic department.  It is anticipated this renovation will take a few more months as well.  It is important to note, however, that our phlebotomy (lab draws) is located in a new space still on the second floor.  The new area is located on the left of the hallway just before you would enter the laboratory space.  It has been expanded to five (5) phlebotomy bays providing for increased customer service.

Although these projects are needed and exciting for many VA staff, we know they can prove to be an inconvenience for Veterans and visitors.  We thank you for your patience and understanding as we make progress on needed infrastructure upgrades.
