NP MaryLee Pakieser Receives (NP) State Award for Excellence

The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) has named MaryLee Pakieser as the recipient of the Nurse Practitioner (NP) State Award for Excellence, which is given annually to an NP in each state who has demonstrated excellence in NP clinical practice. She was nominated for her extraordinary leadership in Michigan through her role as the president of the Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners (MICNP), as a founding member of RN-AIM and her invited membership on the State Nursing Practice Task Force.  As a known and respected advocate for nursing and nurse practitioners, Pakieser has played an important role in educating the public and her health care peers about the role of NPs.  Awardees will be honored at the 2013 AANP conference in Las Vegas.
