VA Selects Site for Community Based Outpatient Clinic in
Grayling, Michigan
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announces a selection of a site for the new Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Grayling, Michigan with a proposed opening date by October 2012.
“This new facility will ensure that Michigan’s Veterans continue to have the world-class medical care that they’ve earned through their service to our Nation,” said Stephanie Young, Acting Medical Center Director.
The new CBOC will be located at 1680 Hartwick Pines Road, Grayling, Michigan 49738.
The clinic will provide primary care, mental health care, laboratory blood draws and other specialty care through tele-health, which is satellite-based technology. Prosthetic shoe services will also be provided by a Pedorthist on site.
Last year, VA spent $2.9 billion on behalf of Michigan’s 700,000 Veterans. VA operates major medical centers in Ann Arbor, Battle Creek, Detroit, Iron Mountain and Saginaw, with outpatient clinics and Vet Centers across the state, and national cemeteries at Ft. Custer and Great Lakes.
