Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, Saginaw, Michigan
New Front Entrance is coming for the Saginaw VAMC
VA Medical Center will close front entrance to main medical center for construction of new building entrance
The Aleda E. Lutz will officially shut down the main entrance to the medical center on Saturday, November 17, 2012. Veterans, visitors, and staff are being asked to utilize the Community Living Center, Building 22, entrance for the planned one-year construction phase.
The new entrance will reach from the existing medical center’s lobby entrance to the curb, offering individuals additional shelter when they arrive at the VA. The entrance building will be approximately 1,880 square feet and will house the VA Information Receptionist and volunteers, along with needed mobility devices and other amenities to better serve Veterans.
“Although the construction phase will come with its challenges, the end result will be worth it. Directional signage will be posted on VA grounds, and VA staff will be at the ready to provide assistance to Veterans and visitors entering through the Community Living Center. They will help in taking individuals to where they need to go, offering needed directions, mobility devices, or contacting a Volunteer escort to help provide wheelchair transport,” states Acting Medical Center Director, Stephanie Young.
